when worlds collide

had a very interesting time yesterday, celebrating with my chosen family, lots of chocolate and laughs and more than a little tension. not that the tension was bad, just a little akward adjusting to new group dynamics. for the first time in years i got together with my core group of friends and i was the only single person there - four couples and me.

i think what made this gathering unusual was that my ex was there with his new partner and the shifting dynamic of the group was a little challenging. emotionally i felt a little on edge but glad that i went. my ex's new partner is a lovely man and i'm glad he came and i got to spend more time getting to know him better.

today i woke with something akin to a hangover, which was the result of lack of sleep because i ingested no alcohol, and determined to make changes in my life.

i joined an online housemate service and have got some responses to follow up with so hopefully it won't take me too long to find a new housemate. have been procrastinating about it for a while and now i've gotten to the point where i just think "do it", make the changes and see what happens. scary shit!! haven't lived in a share house for over 13 years but hopefully it will work out.

feeling a bit emotionally wrecked but in a good way for the most part...

i missed this beautiful woman's concert, bugger, but i still love the music!

can't get this song out of my head at the moment

head racing

time out is good, time out is craved, time out is what i've needed

lost in thought and looking for a way out

revisiting my past this week. for years now i've been carting around old 35mm film, photo's that i took and no longer remember. most of them i have had developed and what treasures i have discovered there (some i have already posted, some of the newer ones i will post soon). Last week, before rugger bugger - which was an excellent nite - i picked up the last color roll, after it had been developed, to find images from the the 1991 GLBT Pride March in Brisbane, Queensland.

talk about a blast from the past - many faces i didn't know...some are so familiar and painful to look at because i have realized that since these photo's have been taken at least one of the faces i recognize is no longer on this mortal coil. but the images tell of celebration and of a desired hope for change and that is what still guides me, the faces of the people no longer here are a testament to all the struggles yet to come and add voice to why we struggle!!

today i picked up the last lot of photo's - a roll of black and white beauties which were taken when i was 19 hanging out with my best friend in a park in Brisbane, tripping and sucking down champers celebrating her birthday and generally living life to the full. the value of these images is, to me, incalculable. the beauty of the images, the pain behind the smiles and the knowledge of the hope which guided us in those days. i look at the people we were in those days and i am so grateful for those experiences. i miss you T.

this is one of my favourite songs to hear when i need a boost

i think the picture says it all...

i love the irony

the catholic church and the idea of increasing the number of sins to include such things as drug trafficking, ostentatious wealth, social and economic injustices and stem cell research, to name but a few.

i find it interesting that to my thinking, the institution of the church would be in effect branding itself a sinner unless of course these new sins are not retroactive and the church is going to eliminate certain practices which would seem to contradict the edict of thou shalt not sin.

i will not be waiting with baited breath

Blah!

no wonder i was so hyper last friday, woke up on saturday feeling like crap and yet still had to go to work. ended up being a great day hanging out in the botanical gardens after work for a b'day picnic then catching up with fellow blogger Sandy and his partner for a good conversation and hang out session.

sunday i woke to discover i hurt in places i din't know i had - struck by the same flu which has captured many a hearty party goer.

back at work today and feeling better but slightly squishy

fabulous friday's tasty morsels

so i had a fantastic mardi gras...danced along the parade route with the tassie devils and partied my but off at the party afterwards. still don't quite know how i did it but i did and it was so much fun..quite confronting fronting up to the crowd along the route dressed in nothing but boxers singlet and boots with the appropriate themed accessories of course but fuck it was fun!!

had a lovely flirtation thing happening with a guy for the last few weeks but alas nothing more is coming of it, so now i'm feeling slightly frisky and on the prowl - so to speak.

i just can't decide where and how to explore and find playmates

i had been thinking of checking out the bears

maybe checking out the leathermen

or sticking to my stock standard lust object of a bit of rough trade

maybe this tasty morsel is more to taste - looks a bit young to me but i love the tat

just can't decide....any suggestions....anyone??
